Other Fun Stuff You'll Enjoy

renaissanceThe Renaissance Costume Ball on Friday Night

Nancy Hurrell, Ellen Tepper and Cynthia Cathcart will be your hostesses for this evening's fun. Don your hat, cape and mask (Gentlemen, only plastic swords, please) and have a rollicking good time at Somerset’s first Renaissance Costume Ball Play in the Somerset Renaissance Dance Band and/or dance the steps as they will be taught to all. Don't have a costume? Not to worry. Come and join the festivities anyway. Be in the band, in the dance or on the sidelines.

carolanThe Carolan Marathon on Saturday Night

Gráinne Hambly (not pictured here!) will anchor this post-concert event on Saturday night. If you love the music of Carolan, one of Ireland's best known harper composers, come to this themed harpers' round-robin. Each player in the circle can start a piece and others will join in if they know the tune. Bring a harp and play (play by ear or bring your music stand and the sheet music) or just sit and enjoy the music. Nearly 200 pieces are attributed to Carolan so let's see how many we can play!
