The Business of Harping: Career Growth Focus Area
Using Email Marketing & Social Media to Grow Your Music Business

If you're a professional harpist, or would like to be, and want to make more money doing what you love, don't miss this event!

Thursday from 10am-Noon:

For the past two years we've presented business-focused workshops as part of our Thursday Special. We've had such great turnouts that we're continuing the tradition this year with a seminar on building your music business using email marketing and social media. You must sign-up in advance to take this class. Use the check box on the registration form.

Who isn’t using email these days? It’s a ubiquitous personal and business communication tool. Hard on its heels in popularity are social media networks like Facebook and Linked In. Then there’s Twitter, which most of us have heard of but few are using. For professional and wanna-be pro harpists, musicians and harp teachers who want to expand their reach and business, learning how to market yourself using these tools effectively should be an essential part of your strategy. If you want to make more money you need to learn how to get digital “word of mouth” working for you.

In this workshop, you’ll hear from an experienced small business owner himself,  how you can use email marketing to promote your music business and what  it takes to make your email marketing effective. Get tips on writing effective subject lines and email content and how to capture and keep your audience's attention. You’ll also  get an overview of  the various social media outlets that are available, how they interact together and ways to leverage their inherent strengths.   Find out how to use social networking media to promote yourself without wasting and losing productivity and hear  how you can use these low-cost tools to gain visibility, develop relationships and generate response.

This seminar is being presented by Dave Yunghans from Contant Contact but this is not a workshop designed to sell you any vendor's specific product. You'll find out what you can do to create professional-looking emails that get attention and pay off. The name of the game is creative marketing of you and your services: so bring your questions to the conversation about email marketing as well as incorporating social media into your plans. If you a member of an organization, like a harp circle or a charity, the information in this seminar is just as valuable for those purposes.

Dave Yunghans will discuss strategies so you can:
Reach out to more prospects
Build a fan base and following

Get better results from your marketing efforts
