Carol Thompson
Workshop Choices:

Time Workshop Presenter Level
Fri. 1:30-3pm Early Music Harp Ensemble
This fun ensemble is intended for beginners and those who have never played in an ensemble before (although anybody else is welcome to participate).  Carol will have multiple parts to suit all levels of players. You only need to read one line of music! Harps of all sizes are welcome as we read two and three part harmonies from 1250 AD to the Renaissance.    If you're interested in a group experience playing together, take this workshop and add some new pieces to your repertoire. The music is by well-known Early Music composers, and Carol will provide the historical context for the pieces. Some of the music uses a drone bass, so even if you are a new player you can still be part of the group.  There is nothing to prepare in advance.  Just come, sit in and be part of a great unusual sound.
Carol Thompson Any
Fri. 3:30-5pm Irish Harp Ensemble 1
For students and teachers who want to enjoy playing in an ensemble taught by one of Ireland's leading composers and arrangers. Teachers will see how to "layer" arrangements to maximize participation by all levels of players and the players will have a fun time learning how to play their parts. Each part is an independent piece, so you'll have something to play even without the larger ensemble later. Taught by ear and with sheet music.
